Home Uncategorized Learn Japanese With Jokes 1 – fun and easy

Many millions of people around the world want to improve their Japanese. Are you one of them? Have you tried Learn-Japanese-in-a-week CD ROMS, boring grammar courses, mind-numbing self study courses? Are you looking for something that is a joy to use? Something that will entertain you while you learn? Improve your Japanese without even realising it? A great way to impress your Japanese-speaking friends? Look no further. Learn Japanese With Jokes - an excellent way for English speakers to practise their Japanese.

It only takes a minute to download the book so very soon you can be reading great jokes like:

男の子:先生、すみません。していないことで、叱られることがある?
先生:いいや。
男の子:そっか、僕宿題やってないよ。

罰する- to punish someone
宿題 - homework

or this classic: -

「ママ、この肉好きじゃない。犬にあげてもいい?」
「いいえ、だめよ。これが犬なのよ。」

Cartoons!

There are also cartoons drawn by the award-winning cartoonist, Ilja Bereznickas.

「犬がいなくなったんだ!」
「新聞に広告を載せたらいいよ。」
「馬鹿じゃない!犬は新聞なんか読めないよ。」

Dog reading cartoon
広告 - an advertisement

 Audio!

There is now a new version of Learn Japanese With Jokes. The book contains 100 audio files provided by a native speaker of Japanese. At the moment the book is only available from Apple Books (for people with Macs, iPads or iPhones) but hopefully that will change soon. It is possible to download a sample of the book from Apple Books so you can check it out and decide whether your Japanese is good enough to understand the jokes. Here's an example: Japanese joke about a man going to the doctor

80歳の男が医者を訪ねました。「来週、結婚するんです。」と言いました。
「いいね、相手の女性は何歳?」と医者が聞きました。
「18歳。」と男が答えました。
「おっと!」と医者が言い「ベッドでの活動は健康に危ないよ」と注意しました。
「そうか。彼女が死ぬなら、仕方ないなぁ」と男の人が言いました。

注意をする - to warn someone
健康に危ない - to be fatal

Which version do you need?

The latest version is with full Japanese audio and is available from Apple Books (for people with Macs, iPads or iPhones)

If you prefer to buy the book from AMAZON or SMASHWORDS, that is also possible.

Don't forget, when you’re trying to improve your skills in a foreign language, reading is one of the best ways – and reading jokes is probably the best of all.
